Peggy Joyce Meadow Fendley August 25, 1935 – July 6, 2026

Peggy Joyce Meadow Fendley, 90, of Madison County, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026.

A lifelong native of Madison County, Joyce was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ardell Meadow. She graduated from Colbert High School with the Class of 1953 and devoted 31 years of service to the Madison County School System, where she worked in the school nutrition program. Joyce was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and her faith.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Jack Fendley; her son-in-law, Eddie Gordon; her sisters, Charlene Wood and Evelyn Parham; and her brothers, Harold Meadow, Pete Meadow, and Bill Meadow. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family of siblings.

She is survived by her son, Marvin Fendley (Marolyn); her daughter, Karen Gordon; her grandchildren, Lisa Fendley, Amanda Fendley, Sara Fendley, and Zachary Gordon; her great-granddaughter, Marissa Moon; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dennis Wester, Deborah Wester, and Michelle White of Abundant Living, as well as Lavonne Anthony and the entire staff of Agape Hospice, for the compassionate care and kindness they provided to Joyce.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel, with burial to follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Chandler, Colby Chandler, Bill Meadow, Jim Meadow, Mitchell Meadow, and Tony Motes.

The family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
