Paul Walter Sprague

Paul Sprague (79) of Ila passed away on Friday, March 31. Born on August 17, 1943, in Monterey Park CA, he was the son of the late Walter and Louise Sprague.

Paul is survived by his six children: Pete McKinley (wife Tracy) of Smithfield, NC, Patrick Sprague of Athens, Emily Sprague, Athens, Allison Maddox (husband, Josh), Ashley Sprague, Watkinsville, and Blake Sprague, Watkinsville. Paul’s grandchildren include Preston, Landon, Caden, and Conner McKinley and Chyenne and Chloe Maddox.

Paul served in the US ARMY 82nd Airborne Division and moved to Athens soon after his discharge. He worked in the mobile home industry in various capacities for around 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed small construction, and home repair but his favorite hobby was building gardens.

A memorial service will be held with plans to be determined.
