Paul Gunnells, 60, husband of Melba Gunnells, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at his residence in Winder, Georgia.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late James E. and Gladys Parnell Gunnells. Mr. Gunnells was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Paul Gunnells and six brothers. He was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church. He retired from the Athens Banner Herald after 34 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, daughters, Kimberly Dawn Story of Auburn, Robyn Michele Gunnells of Colbert, Misty Gail Gunnells of Athens, step daughters, Gennie Carolyn Shirley of Calhoun, Maria I. Garrett of Statham, aunt, Lula Belle Lassiter, grandchildren, Ashley Marie Strickland, Robert Austin Story and Kirsti B. Garrett.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 15, 2005 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens, WEST with Rev. Elmer Butler and David Beck officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Lord & Stephens, WEST is in charge of arrangements.
