Paul David Edmondson

August 18, 1955 — June 8, 2025

Winterville, Georgia

Paul “David” Edmondson passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on August 18, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia. His childhood and young adult life were spent mostly in Crawford, Georgia – though he lived in Atlanta for nearly 10 years. During most of the last 25 years, David lived in Cincinnati, Ohio – where he finished his career as a Lead Consultant for FedEx Office. Colleagues admired his humor, his skill and his unending willingness to step in to help whenever needed.

David was preceded in death by his parents Lillie Mae (Stephens) Locklear and Harrell Edmondson. In addition, his stepfather, Edward Jackson (Jack) Locklear, and siblings: Bonnie Gail (Locklear) Stovall, Nancy Joe (Locklear) Campbell, Harrell Gene Edmondson, and grand-nephew, Shawn Jacob Olsen.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Libby Anne Winterhalter, of Cincinnati, Ohio, who remained a loving friend, a steady presence, and his health-care advocate during the four-plus years of battling serious medical conditions. He is also survived by his sisters: Janet (née Edmondson) Dingler, Joyce (née Edmondson) Johnson, and his brother, Donald Edmondson, and long-time, great friends: Jeff Whitfield and Rose Poggioli.

David did not go through this alone. Numerous people helped both David and Libby throughout this journey, including family members, friends, clients, medical and FedEx personnel, and even acquaintances stepped in as his needs became more obvious and frequent.

A special “Thank you!” goes to his cousins and their families: Mike (Christy) Todd, Al Aguilar, and Roger (Dana) McKee. David’s niece and her husband: Sandi (Ray) Waters. Friends: Ed and Elaine Brown, Erin McGrath, and Linda Pettifer, plus many others.

David was known for his southern charm, his southern cooking, and his EXTREME love of the Georgia Bulldogs! He will be missed and forever remembered as a man who naturally looked for – and found – the positivity in any situation, including this one.
