Patti Paradise Escoe, 69, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
The family will greet friends at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home EAST on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST
Patti Paradise, daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln and Margaret Coile Paradise, was born on April 18, 1956 in Athens, Georgia. After graduating nursing school, Patti chose to remain in Oglethorpe County with her loving husband, Marcus R. Escoe. The couple remained in Oglethorpe County as they grew their family to include a daughter, Marci Paradise Escoe.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Mike Paradise.Patti graduated nursing school from Medical College of Georgia in April of 1979 with her bachelor's of nursing degree.She began her nursing career at St. Mary's hospital in Athens, Ga. Patti then combined her nursing expertise and love for young people as she pioneered the first health occuapations program at Oglethorpe County High School. She then left Oglethorpe County High School and continued her traching career at Greene County High School where she assisted countless students obtain their licensure to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She will be fondly remembered by the numerous students whom she introduced to the healthcare profession.
Patti was a member of Salem Baptist Church and later transferred her membership to Antioch Baptist Church in Oglethorpe County.
Most dearly, she adored all members of her family and all her friends she made over the years– whether by blood or by love. She loved sharing her hobbies with those closest to her, including her unique talents for thrifting and crafting and sharing a dance to any Elvis song that happened to play. Her welcoming spirit and shining light enveloped all those near her in warmth, genuine care, and love. She will be missed dearly by her adoring family, friends, and friends who became family.
Left to cherish the memories they made together is her best friend and husband of 45 years, Marcus Escoe, her daughter; Marci Paradise Escoe (Brandon). Affectionately known as PatPat by her grandchildren; Paisley, Colton, Lane, and Stetson, her sisters; Penni Paradise and Angel Paradise, her sister-in-love; Angela Escoe, close family friend; Susie Mae Hill, and several nieces and nephews.
