Nina Sue Toney, 79, died July 22, 2018.
A native and lifelong resident of Clarke County, she was a daughter of the late Sarah Sue Milligan Couch and Joseph William Franklin Couch. Mrs. Toney was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeffrey Paul Weatherford. She was employed for several years with the City of Athens Human Resources Department and Athens Technical College for seven years. She was a member of Johnson Drive Baptist Church for many years.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Entombment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, Delano Toney; three children, Victoria Jeanne Weatherford, Delano Toney, II and Michael Shawn Toney and his wife, Cynthia Escoe Toney; two sisters, Brenda Ann Couch and Sandra Jane Couch; four grandchildren, Matthew Paul Weatherford, Darian Noel Toney, Brandee Shawn Toney and Jacob Quinton Toney; three great grandchildren, Kylie Loraine Burnett, Jaxon Shawn Toney and Callie Marie Weatherford.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
