Nina L. Webb Hayes, age 86, peacefully passed away on June 10, 2026. She was born on March 13, 1940, to the late Lee Alton Webb and Grace Gresham Webb.
Nina graduated from Greene County High School and continued her education at Johnson Business School in Athens, Georgia. She married Joe Gene Hayes of Lexington, Georgia, and together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Gene Hayes; her daughter, Donna Hayes Floyd of Bogart, Georgia; her son, Steve Hayes (Sandy Hayes) of Dublin, Georgia; her cherished grandchildren, Merrie Hayes Byne (Josh Byne), Nicholas Hayes, and Crockett Floyd; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Kacie Byne and Finley Byne.
Nina was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church, where she served as the church organist for 59 years. Her music ministry touched countless lives, and her dedication to her church family was a testament to her unwavering faith.An accomplished pianist, Nina loved sitting down at the piano each day and filling her home with music. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart, steadfast faith, and the love she shared with family, friends, and all who knew her.
Her legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Please join us for a celebration of life Saturday June 13, 2026 at Salem Baptist Church, in Lexington, GA. Visitation begins at 1:00pm followed by the service at 2:00pm.
