Nellie Eva Clanton

Nellie Eva Stone Clanton (84 years old). Born in Bulloch County, Statesboro, GA but lived and was raised in Savannah, GA.

The wife of Joe “Jr.” Clanton for 59 years before his passing, Nellie was a devoted wife, mother and caretaker. In addition to her husband, Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; Patrick Leonard Stone and Minnie Ballard Stone; siblings: A.J. Newman, Earl Newman, Martha Ann Newman, Wauwese Schuman Woodward, Robert “Bobby” Stone, and Janice Ciliberto and son-in-law: Keith Fagan.

Survivors include her children: Joey Clanton III (Cindy) of Rome, GA, Deborah Wilda (Timm) of Trinity, NC. Lori Fagan of Lake Geneva, FL. Chris Clanton (Heather) of Greensboro, GA; sister-in-Law: Glenda Sutton Stone (Bobby); grandchildren: Joe Clanton IV, Michele Mote Clements (Russ), Melissa Mote, Eva Chamberlain, Josh Myers, Timothy Wilda, Sydney Clanton, and Macie Clanton and a number of great grandchildren.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 12th at 2:00 PM, at The Cross Loganville with Pastor Tim Cash officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
