Nancy Lord Eades

Nancy Lord Eades, 91, of Watkinsville, died peacefully at home on July 19, 2023.

Born in Oconee County, GA she was a daughter of the late Margaret Dickens Murray and J.W. Murray and Romey D. Oldham.  She and her late husband, William T. (Bill) Lord made their home in Martinez, GA from 1953 until his death in 1986.  While in Martinez, she was manager of Thompson Company.   In 1987, she moved back to Oconee County and worked in the Oconee County Probate Court.  During that time, she met and married Jack Eades who also worked in the courthouse.  They were married until his death in 2016.

Survivors include her sons, William Scott Lord and his wife Diana of Otto, NC and Lawton T. “Tom” Lord and his wife Melissa of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Scott Lord, Jr. (Andrea), Heather Lord Walters (Seth), Shannon Lord, Katie Lord Lee (Tommy), Chris Lord, Hillary Lord, Alex Lord (Sydney) and Bailey Lord; great grandchildren, Lawton, Nolan and Addison Lord and Luke, Ezra and Jack Walters, Cooper Lee and Brayden Muniz; sisters, Rita Huff and Dianne DiLetto; brothers, Dick Oldham and Mike Murray and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Lord and Stephens, WEST, Friday, July 21, 2023 beginning at 9:30 AM.  Services will follow in the chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rob Bray officiating.  Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park.

As per Nancy’s request, please omit flowers.  If you so desire, memorials may be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org
