Mildred Eugenia Escoe

Mildred “Jean” Wall Escoe, age 93, of Crawford, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Oneita Wall; her sister, Martha Helen Harris; and her brother, James Wilkes Wall. Jean attended school in Crawford, Georgia and Arnoldsville, Georgia. After high school, she worked for the N. D. Arnold Phone Company, as one of the operators of the telephone exchange in Crawford. After leaving there, she worked for Jones Pharmacy and then Oglethorpe Pharmacy until her retirement. Jean was a well-known member of her community in Crawford, Georgia, and she loved the many connections she made during her work at the Pharmacy.

Jean was strong in her faith. She loved the Lord, and she was a devoted member of Crawford Baptist Church. Jean loved her family and friends. She always cherished family gatherings, visits from friends, and any time that she got to spend with her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and many other extended family members. Jean also enjoyed cutting grass, working in her yard, and tending to flowers and plants. Jean’s passing leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by all who loved her, and she will be dearly missed.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Crawford Baptist Church. The funeral will immediately follow at the church, beginning at 11:00 am, with Pastor Eric Stevens officiating. Jean will be laid to rest at the Crawford Cemetery following the service. Family and friends will be received at Jean’s home located at 324 North Street in Crawford, following the burial.
