Michael A. Spivey, 55, born June 12, 1956 in Macon, Georgia, passed November 19, 2011 from the dreadful disease ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease). Born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia, Michael moved to Columbia and retired after 28 years as a high voltage electrician with the City of Columbia, SC. He was a loving man. Family survivors are his wife, Wendy Spivey; son and wife, Jason and Vickie Davis and grandchild Ellie Davis; his dedicated dog Dixie who kept him company; parents, Edgar and Frances Spivey; brother, Stan Spivey; sister, Pam Geib and two nephews Matt and Tucker Geib, all from Athens, Ga; two brothers and sisters in-law Rick and Mary Coon from Warner Robins, Ga and Mike and Sherry Matthews and mother-in-law, Jackie Tuttle from the Columbia area.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Winterville Cemetery.
