Michael Thomas Hammond

Michael Thomas Hammond, 53, of Athens, GA, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2026.

The family will receive friends at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home EAST on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Gene Hammond.

Left to cherish the memories they made together are his mother, Susie Hammond of Athens, GA; his sisters, Terri Krucina of Martinez, GA; Toni Meadow (Tony) of Athens, GA; Tammi Amason (Mark) of Elberton, GA; his aunt, Pat Greene; special cousins, Sandra Gettis and Susan Jenkins; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Michael’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or your local humane society.
