Megan Dickert

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Megan Joan Dickert on July 21, 2026. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family, and her many friends close by – affectionately known as her “framily” to her.

Megan was smart, funny, sarcastic in all the right ways, and most of all loving. She loved her five cats, and her sweet Oliver in heaven. She had a knack for making friends, never meeting a stranger. Megan was a bright light for those around her, even when she was in her lowest moments in this fight she would find joy and pour into those around her. Megan loved Jesus, and made sure to put him first in everything she did.

Megan accomplished so much in such a short time. She was an accomplished realtor, earning "New Face of the Year" from the Athens Association of Realtors her first year in real estate, and established her own real estate brokerage. She graduated from the University of Georgia Cum Laude while managing her real estate career and her family. She had started a Master's program in Christian trauma counseling at the University of Toccoa Falls, while she was going through treatment.

Megan's greatest joy were her children, Shannon, Charlie, and MJ. She loved nothing more than watching Shannon play baseball, and cheering on his friends. She loved her Charlie the Cheerleader, and was always front row for every competition. She loved watching her MJ on stage performing, and all the art she would always bring home for her Mommy.

Megan married the love of her life, Bill, who was her best friend and her greatest pillar of love and support. They had 20 glorious years together.

Megan loved her sister Melissa, they were connected from the day Megan was born. Not a day went by that they didn't speak. Melissa held Megan up through lots of hard days during her journey with cancer.

Megan is survived by her husband Bill, and their children Shannon, Charlie and MJ (Marah), her sisters Melissa (Hoyt) and Sabrina, her mother Wendy, her father Michael (Debbie), and her nieces Kayla (Jesse) and Rhiannon, her nephew Maddox, her great nephew Russell, her nephews Charlton, Christian, Aidan, and Avery, her Mimi, lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". – 2 Timothy 4:7

The family asks that donations be made to The Cancer Foundation of Northeast Georgia in her memory.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 5PM at Bethlehem Church, 316 Campus, 965 Hog Mountain Road, Winder, GA 30680. The family will receive friends following the service.
