Matthew Taylor Wilkes, 30, died June 27, 2005. - Born in Clarke County, he was the son of Ted C. and Marilyn S. Wilkes of Watkinsville. He was a graduate of Oconee County High School. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pearl Sosebee and Andrew Jackson and Annie Ethel Wilkes.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Grace Fellowship Church of God with Revs. Tony Vismor and Tracy Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Clint Wilkes, Andrew Wilkes, Alden Phillips, Jake Sosebee, Andy Waters and Steve Baxter.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Terri Dove Wilkes of Auburn; sister, Amy Nation of Bogart; grandfather, Jake Sosebee; niece, Amberlee Wilkes; nephew, Spencer Nation and aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Lord and Stephens, WEST is in charge of arrangements.
