MaryAnn Theresa Deom

MaryAnn Theresa Deom, 68, wife of Carl Michael Deom and mother of Alexandra Elizabeth Deom, died Friday, August 13, 2021. Born in Arlington, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Bernard and Elizabeth Louise (nee Hendricks) Miller, and sister to the late Elizabeth L. Moran and Suzanne C. Lawton. Mrs. Deom received her masters degree from Southern Illinois University and retired from the University of Georgia as the Associate Director of Sponsor Programs. She was a parishioner of the UGA Catholic Center.  In addition to her husband and daughter, survivors include her siblings: Robert B. Miller, Marguerite E. Hotovy, Michael C. Miller and Karl F. Miller. A memorial Mass celebrating MaryAnn’s life will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the UGA Catholic Center followed by inurnment at Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 6 until 8:00 pm at the Lord and Stephens West Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org) or the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia (foodbanknega.org).
