Mary Lee Whitaker, 73, of Athens, died Friday, March 11, 2005.
A native of Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Thurman Carey and Sally Lizzie Bryant Jones and the widow of William Alexander Whitaker. She had retired from private nursing and was of the Baptist faith.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Fork Creek Baptist Church, Bowman, GA, with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Dent W. Young of Oak Ridge, TN, Gina Marie and Adrian Bunkowski of Shawnee, KS, Sally Lynn Whitaker of Athens; three sisters, Faye J. Prather of Athens, Betty J. Ray of Hull, Constance Ann Brewer of Watkinsville and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart Association for Heart Research for Women.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home EAST is in charge of arrangements.
