Mary Peggy Martin Monroe

Mary Peggy (Martin) Monroe passed away on August 26, 2025 at the age of 76. 

Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her husband, James Darrell Monroe; father, Roy R. Martin; mother, Florence A. Martin; brother, Julius R. Martin and sisters, Lois M. Whitehead, Luree Thomas, and Inez M. Whitehead.

Mrs. Monroe is survived by one nephew, six nieces and several great-nephews and great-nieces. 

Mrs. Monroe (or Peggy) was a very generous woman with a love for animals especially cats. She worked at the University of Georgia, nursing assistant at hospitals, nursing homes and home health care and was also a paper carrier for 17 years.

Graveside services will be Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 am at Union Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
