Mary Margaret Millican, 87, died March 14, 2005.
A native of Whiteville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Mattie Hill and Walter Patrick Lynch, and was the widow of W. T. (Bill) Millican, to whom she was married for sixty-eight years. She was also preceded in death by a son, W. T. (Tom) Millican, III.
Mrs. Millican lived in Athens since 1954 and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, where she served on the board and was director of the Thrift House. She was a member of the Athens Garden Club, Road Runners of Athens and numerous civic organizations, including past board member of Athens YMCA.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Millican Jarrett and husband, Larry of Clayton, GA; sister-in-law, Ann Millican Helms of St. Simons Island; grandchildren, Phil Millican (Jennifer) of Sylvania, Katie VanBrackle (Bobby) of Alpharetta, Jenny Rutledge (Ben) of Carlton, Johnny Jarrett (Linsey) of Athens; great-grandchildren, Bobby and Davey VanBrackle, Ashlyn Millican, Millican and Seele Jarrett, and Jarrett Rutledge.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Athens, Clayton First United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
