Mary Kerry Adams, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the age of 83.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Adolph J. Peldner and Genevieve Marie Acton Peldner. Mary proudly served her country as a Veteran of the United States Navy and was a dedicated member of AMVETS of Athens. She was a talented artist and muralist having painted at the Great Lakes Naval Base. Mary spent more than 40 years as a beloved hairdresser in the Athens and Hull communities, where she became not only a trusted stylist but also a mentor and friend to many. She was known for her kind heart, love of animals, and deep devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana Allen Carter and her son, Bill Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Monique Adams Crawford (Brooks); brother, Patrick John Peldner (Lydia); grandchildren, Ashlynn Bone (Eric), Demi Robb (Austin) and Michael Self and 9 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
