Mary Veronica Jinglewski

Mary Veronica Jinglewski, 36, passed away September 27 at Piedmont Hospital after a valiant fight against adrenal cortical carcinoma.

Mary was the cherished wife of Max Doty, and the beloved daughter of Frank Jinglewski and Ellen Kelly, and daughter-in-law of Daniel and Rebecca Doty. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mary was smart, kind, beautiful, and funny. She always made sure to find time to help others, whether it was a postcard, care package, or most likely, a book. Mary was active in many organizations including P.E.O. and Odyssey of the Mind.

Mary graduated from Perry High School in 2007. She graduated from Cottey College in Missouri with an Associate’s Degree. It is there that Mary started her lifelong membership with P.E.O., a women’s philanthropic organization for supporting women’s education. She was the P.E.O. Georgia State Historian and president of the local Chapter “U” in Athens.

Mary went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Berry College and a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

She presently worked as a Technical Writer for Honeycomb in San Francisco.

Services will be held on October 4th at St. Joseph’s Church at 958 Epps Bridge Parkway, Athens, GA 30606 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm.

A reception with follow at 2pm at The Cotton Press at 149 Oneta Street, Athens GA 30601. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served.
