Mary “Linda” Ellis, age 81, of Watkinsville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026. She was born in Omega, Georgia, on January 3, 1945, to Claude and Louise Jones.

Linda was a devoted wife to her husband, George “Larry” Ellis, with whom she shared nearly 62 years of marriage. Together, they built a loving life and spent many years in Stockbridge, Georgia, where they raised their two sons. Family was at the heart of Linda’s life, and she treasured her roles as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Louise Jones; her husband, George “Larry” Ellis; her son, Michael Henderson Ellis; and her sister, Carol Elaine Jones.

She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Ann Goff; sister-in-law, Mae Beth (Selvyn) Drew; son, David (Judy) Ellis; grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Childers and Jordan (Abigail) Ellis; and four great-grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Myles, and Felicity.

After her two children graduated, Linda enjoyed working for 20 years at Ingles Grocery, where she formed many lasting friendships. She had a wonderful love of music and spent many years playing bass with the family bluegrass band. She and Larry shared a lifelong enjoyment of auto racing, attending races together and watching them from home. Linda also loved woodworking and took great pride in creating beautiful custom boxes and other handcrafted pieces. In her later years, she enjoyed bird watching, reading, and putting together puzzles.

Above all, Linda cherished her family. Her kindness, creativity, steady presence, and love for those around her created a lasting legacy that will live on through the generations.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, Georgia, with a memorial service immediately following.

Interment will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, Georgia, on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Linda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
