Marvin L. White

Marvin White, age 85, of Colbert, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026. Born on September 14, 1940, Marvin lived a life defined by service, dedication, and a deep love for his family and community.

He spent over thirty years in the electrical utility field; employed by Georgia Power, Jackson EMC, Rayle EMC and retired from Mitchell EMC. A longtime leader in Madison County, Marvin played an instrumental role in helping establish the Madison County Chamber of Commerce and later served as its president. He served as past Chairman of Madison County IDA, and he was one of the founding members of the Madison County Rotary Club. He also belonged to the Lions Club and the Gideons. Marvin was committed to civic involvement, and he built many lasting friendships serving his community & county.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Frankie and Vera White; his sons, Craig White and Tim White; and his brothers, Gary White and Ricky White.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 40 years, Linda White; his children, Gabe Martin (Amanda) of Danielsville, Georgia, and Chapel Kershaw (Troy) of Lynchburg, Virginia; his sister, Anne Bouchard of Gainesville, Georgia; and his cherished grandchildren, Cate Stroud, Charlie Kershaw, Clover Kershaw, Calla Martin, Clare Martin, Derek White, Ciera White, Brock White, Griffin White, and Alice Drennan.

Marvin found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. His kindness, steady presence, and commitment to those he loved will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Kershaw, Jason Tyner, Todd Tyner, Cory Smith, Tommy Sheppard, Billy Sheppard, Wendell Carey, and Chris Conley.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home in Danielsville (963 GA-98, Danielsville, GA 30633). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church (2411 US-29, Danielsville, GA 30633) with Robby Brown and Keith Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Danielsville Evangelical Church Cemetery (25 Evangelical Church Rd, Danielsville, GA 30633).

Marvin’s legacy of service, faith, and love will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
