Martha Lucile Maxey Garmon

Martha Lucile Maxey Garmon passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was a native of Watkinsville, GA and was the daughter of the late Herschel Ervin Maxey and Inez Puryear Maxey.

She attended the Cave Springs, Georgia School for the Deaf where she played basketball and she also attended Oconee County High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Garmon; son, Gari and brothers, Hershel Maxey and Stephen Maxey.

Survivors include her children, Cindy (Travis) Bray, Kent (Kim) Garmon, Freddie (Laura) Garmon; grandchildren, Chastity Shepherd, Christina Bray, Brian Bray, Lala (Kerry) Lepard, Kent (Jenn) Garmon, Miranda (Erik) Ledna, Alex Garmon and Kristen Garmon and several great-grandchildren.

She was retired from the United States Post Office. She was a Treasurer for the Georgia Association for the Deaf and was very active in the deaf community.

Funeral services will be private.
