Martha C. Almond

Martha Casebier Almond, 90, of Athens, GA passed away on December 22, 2025. Born on March 22, 1935, she was the daughter of William Lee Casebier and Bernice Myrl Hatcher.

Martha was employed by AT&T (Bell South) where she spent 37 years. She was promoted after six months to Trainer. She trained new operators to handle long-distance calls. She was service assistant, group chief operator and chief operator. The company moved the long-distance operation to Atlanta, GA. At that time, she was moved into the plant department where she supervised the repair men. Martha was a longtime member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and later in life she was a member of Forest Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Tippett “Tip” Almond, her parents and all her siblings. Survivors include many nieces and nephews in Georgia and Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held on December 27, 2025 at 2PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
