Margaret Goss Smith

Margaret Goss Smith, 79, of Bogart died on Monday, October 30, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Goss and was born in Franklin, NC. The family moved to Atlanta a few months later, and she lived there most of her life. She married E. Mitchell Smith, Jr., and they had two daughters. The family moved to Watkinsville in 1993 and has lived in the area since.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Linda Rothberg.

Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Linda Jacob (Cameron) and Laura Lomonaco; five grandchildren: Hector Santiago, Jr. (Jordan Leigh), Zachery Lomonaco, Megan Johnson (Kristian), Abigail Jacob, and Maddie Lomonaco; two great-grandchildren, Leina Santiago and Kaleb Johnson; nephew, Phillip Rayle Smith; and sister-in-law, Martha Ruth Phillips.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Leukemia Society.
