Lynda Lewise Adkisson Stephenson, 85, of Hull, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Donald “Mickey” Stephenson.
Lynda was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on December 18, 1940, to the late Lewis Adkisson and Veryl Bolles Adkisson. She spent her working years as a bank teller and was a longtime member of Gordons Chapel Methodist Church.
Lynda found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. She loved gardening, playing bridge with her friends, singing in the church choir, and traveling. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and the memories they made together.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Stephanie) Stephenson, Chris (Marjorie) Stephenson, and Tim (Teresa) Stephenson; her brothers, Ron Adkisson and Larry Adkisson; and her five grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Mina, Julia, and Liam.
Lynda will be remembered for her love of family, her friendships, her faith, and the many ways she brought warmth and companionship to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Gordons Chapel Methodist Church, 6625 Nowhere Road, Hull, GA 30646. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynda’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Georgia Public Broadcasting (PBS).
