Lynda Kitchens Garvin, 64, died July 19, 2023.

Born in Atlanta, GA, Lyn was a longtime resident of Athens and was a daughter of the late Donnie Mae Beard and James Iverson Kitchens. She retired from the University of Georgia Department of Human Resources-Physical Plant Division, and was a devoted supporter of UGA Football and Baseball. Go Dawgs!

Funeral services will be Monday, July 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, Robin Garvin; daughters, Stephanie (Charlie) Chase of Dallas, GA, grandsons Grayson and Maverick, and Kimberly (Kyle) Holman of Commerce, GA, grandson Sawyer; siblings, Gwen (John) Scarborough of Danielsville, GA, Cary Kitchens of Toccoa, GA, Byron Kitchens of Danielsville, GA, and Becky (Bill) Taff of Taylorsville, GA; sister-in-law, Gail Day of Lexington, SC; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National Kidney Foundation and/or The American Cancer Society.
