Luther Ernest Wood, Jr.

Luther Ernest Wood Jr. (Buster), 76, of Colbert Ga. died on May 25, 2026. The son of the late Luther E Wood Sr. and Vera E Youngblood Wood.

Buster was born in Athens, GA and lived in Colbert for 43 years. He drove a truck with L&G Trucking, also worked as an electrician assistant while remodeling homes and ended his working career as a Security Guard for Sorority houses at UGA.

He was proceeded in death by his son Wayne Wood, a great grandson Gabriel Lopez Ponce, two of his sisters MaryHelen Quarles, Dorothy Harper, and a brother Thomas Wood.

He was survived by his wife, Karen Wood. He is also survived by his children Craig Wood (late Melissa), Kerry Montes (Fransisco), Luke Dudley, Sally Smith, Katrina Casper, and Andrea Ponce (Heriberto). His sister's Marie Carson (Bill), Sheila Herring (Ricky), Patricia Wood and his brother Stanley Wood (Late Cindy), Sister-in-Law Lorraine Piché, and Charmaine Wood.

He also had 18 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Many neices, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be at Lord and Stephens Danielsville, GA. On Thursday May 28, 2026 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Services and Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Hull, GA. on Friday May 29, 2026 at 3:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Heriberto Ponce, Francisco Montes, Alex Chapman, Cody Chapman, Brandon Ponce and Lee Garcia

Family visitation and food will be after at the church Fellowship Hall.
