Louise H. Turner passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her fun, but no-nonsense spirit, brought joy to her family and friends.  She cherished Christ’s faithful love and demonstrated it with a gentle empathy.  She participated in the community as a member of The Christian Women’s Club and Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens, GA.  She enjoyed teaching children, whether her own children or grandchildren, or children in Sunday School; with imagination and organization, she created a fun learning experience for each precious child. She also expressed her creativity in painting, pottery, and photography, and shared her love of art and culture with children by volunteering as a docent at the University of Georgia art museum.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Education, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Georgia in 1994.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years Robert Hewell Turner, Sr. Their son and daughter-in-law Robert (Bob) and Betsy Clark Turner of Flowery Branch; their daughter and son-in-law Glynis Lorraine and Robert (Bob) Habeck of Jefferson; her sisters Doris Castleberry of Ochlocknee, GA and Mary Shiver of Bonaire, GA. and her brother Timothy Hartley of Cairo, GA; her two grandchildren Ashley Louise Habeck and Brian Cameron Habeck.
