Lottie Whitehead, 93, of Hull, GA, wife of the late Elmer Payne, died on Friday, August 1, 2025.
Born at home in Oconee County, Lottie was the daughter of the late Frank Warren and Emma Chrisley Thomas. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Steve Whitehead, brothers: Johnny Warren, Dave Warren and Daniel Warren, one sister, Daisy Murphy and several half brothers and sisters. Early in her life, Mrs. Whitehead worked as a hairdresser and retired as a textile worker. Following retirement, she was known for her amazing biscuits she made at home for her family and the Bread Basket on Chase Street.
Survivors include her daughters: Shirley Johnson and Peggy Hunt; eight grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Rick Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Shane Pursley, Chad Bryant, Derrick Berryman, Cody Ogle, Lindsey Wilson, Steven Whitehead, Trent Slayton, Trey Slayton and Jarrett Moore.
