Loretta Williams

Wanda Loretta Williams, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, four days shy of her 78th birthday.

A lifelong resident of the Athens area, she was the daughter of the late Hoke Bates and Ruby Campbell Bates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Pete Morrow and Billy Bates.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Larry Williams; children, Robbie Williams and Julie McElreath (Wesley); brothers, Mickey Campbell and Jimmy Bates; grandchildren, Cody McElreath (Kala) and Will McElreath (McKenzie) and great-grandson, Stetson McElreath.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West with Carey Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
