Lindsey L. Fambrough, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 20, 2025, at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on June 24, 1953, in Athens, GA, Lindsey's life was marked by a profound love for others, always putting their needs before his own.
Lindsey retired after a commendable 28-year career as a forklift operator for Westclox. Even after hanging up his work boots, he maintained deep connections with former coworkers, often reaching out with a kind word or a call to check in. This kindness and sense of duty to care for others extended deeply into his family life, where his devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was paramount.
He shared 28 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Joanne Pless Fambrough, of Bowman, GA. He found immense joy in being a father and grandfather to: his son, Wesley (Karen) Fambrough and daughter, Tina (Tony) Phonekeo and grandson Silas, all of Watkinsville, and step-sons Johnathan (Alana) Dutton of Bowman and Josh (Shanda) Dutton of Tennesee. And grandchildren John Michael (Micayla) Dutton, Blake (Kristen) Dutton, Luke Dutton, Andrew Dutton, Kaylea (Koby) Dutton and Devin Dutton, cherishing every moment spent with them. His love only intensified with the arrival of his great grandchildren, Harper, Scarlett, Ally, Levi, and Colton Dutton, who brought boundless joy into his life.
Lindsey’s gentle spirit and nurturing nature were beautifully complemented by his dedication to his faith, attending Calvary Temple Church and making Antioch Christian Church his home church. He was a man who embodied compassion and selflessness, and he will be remembered for the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as his cherished sisters, Linda Greene and Becky Woodworth, both of Watkinsville, who knew the depth of his kindness and his unwavering spirit. Lindsey was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsey Lumpkin Fambrough, Sr., Geneva Hardigree Fambrough, sister Sandra, as well as his brothers-in-law, Gene Greene and Paul Woodworth, both of whom he held in great affection.
A visitation will be held in Lindsey's honor on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel in Watkinsville, GA. A funeral service will follow on August 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Antioch Christian Church, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and the love he so generously shared throughout his years.
Lindsey L. Fambrough, Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, and friendship, and while he has left this earthly realm, his memory will forever reside in the hearts of all who knew him.
