Linda Carter Tracy Camp, 73, went to be with Jesus on April 4, 2024, peacefully at Emory University Hospital. Born in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of W.T. “Bud” Carter and Barbara M. Carter who predeceased her. She married the late Kirby T. Tracy, Sr. in 1972 and had two children, Kirby Jr., and Scott. After Kirby’s passing in 2005, she later married a lifelong friend, Damon “Dave” Camp in 2013. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and earned a master’s degree from Georgia College and State University. She was a former schoolteacher and worked at the Bluebird Bus Company in Fort Valley, GA and later at Flowers, Inc. in Athens. Linda loved to travel and along with her husband, Dave, enjoyed cruising as well as trips to the beach and mountains. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of others before her own. Family was the most important thing to her, and it was where she drew her strength and where she will leave her legacy. She will be forever missed and loved.
Survivors include her sons, Kirby Tracy JR. and his wife Krisha of Cypress, TX, Scott Tracy and his wife, Heather of Watkinsville, GA; Grandchildren Landen, Ryder, Maverick, Remington, Sam and Izetta; sisters, Diane Schmaus and her husband Keith of Anderson, SC, and Karen Bradford and her husband, Don of Seneca, SC; nephew, Brandon Weathers of Midland, NC, and a niece, Lauren Stanley of Sumter, SC; her second husband, Dave of Winder, GA; stepchildren; Rachael Barrientos and John Camp along with his wife, Amanda; and three step grandchildren, Lillie, Henry and Ruby.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, 1 p.m. at Lord and Stephens West, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd, Watkinsville, GA 30677. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family has requested the in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Guiding Eyes for the Blind (https://guidingeyes.org/) or the American Brain Tumor Association (https://www.abta.org/).
