Linda H Brooks

Linda Louise Hill Brooks, age 81, of Crawford, GA passed away on November 3, 2025. The daughter of the late Luther and Louise Hill, Linda was born and raised in Athens, Ga. She married Arnall Brooks in 1967 and moved to Crawford, where she remained for 58 years. Linda is survived by her husband, her daughter Samantha Brooks Carroll, her son, Britt Brooks, her son in law, Michael Carroll, her future daughter in law Claudette Chason, her granddaughter, Elizabeth Carroll and grandson, Jacob Brooks and her future grand daughter Emma Chason.

Linda was a former schoolteacher. She made a great impact on the early elementary students she taught both within and outside of the classroom. Once she became a mother, she devoted her time to raising her children and supporting her husband in his business. She was an avid seamstress, often sewing beautiful clothing for both herself and her family. She also exercised her love for sketching and painting. She enjoyed gardening and spent memorable time working in the yard, growing both flowers and vegetables as well as tropical plants in her greenhouse. She loved animals of all kinds, and cared for dogs, cats, goats and even a pig throughout her life. Her aforementioned classroom creativity parlayed into her parenting as she used her artistic abilities to encourage and teach her own children, assisting with school projects and their other interests. She ensured that both her children were schooled in the appropriate social graces and created a loving home full of cooking, ingenuity and attention to detail.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, at Evergreen Memorial Park at 11:00am. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday November 6 at Lord & Stephens East Funeral Home.
