Lewis was born in Gardiner, ME, on December 17, 1955. He moved to Georgia at the age of 11 with his family. As a young man he was very involved with the FFA and showed beef cattle and competed in public speaking where he won first place at the state level. He graduated from Oconee County High School in 1974. He attended college at ABAC where he obtained his degree in Ag. Business. He was a lifelong outdoorsman and enjoyed anything involving agriculture.
Lewis retired after twenty-one years in law enforcement in Seminole County, Oconee County, and Barrow County, Georgia. His time serving as a firefighter and law enforcement officer was the epitome of his love serving and helping others in their time of need. His main focus in law enforcement was helping minors affected by crimes. He was known as an advocate for children and received many letters and notes of appreciation for his care and concern and standing up for those who were afraid to use their voice. His law enforcement career consisted of criminal investigation, negotiator for the SWAT team, and investigator for crimes against children.
Lewis loved his family, and his church, but first and foremost, he loved the Lord. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was an evangelist at heart. He wanted everyone to know our Lord & Savior and never missed an opportunity to share God’s word.
