Lana Virginia Taylor

Lana Virginia Taylor was born on April 22, 1946, and she lived her whole life in Oconee County. She passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026. Lana graduated from Oconee County High School in 1964. She loved her community and worked as a paraprofessional for Oconee County Schools. Lana was also a loving mother and took great joy in caring for her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana. She was an avid reader, a talented seamstress and a dedicated Georgia Bulldog fan. These things were a big part of who she was. Lana was the daughter of Alden Moon, Carolyn Batchelor Lee, and Ralph Lee. Sadly, her parents and her brother Alden Moon, Jr. have passed away before her. She is survived by her daughter Tasha (Rick) Hoffmann, her sons Kip (Wendi) Taylor and Jon (Kristen) Taylor, and another daughter Jessica (Carter) Corn. She also leaves behind many grandchildren: Drew (Ashley) Hoffmann, Taylor (Will) Miller, Gavin Taylor, Ashlan (Lane) Smith, Tristan Taylor, Jonna Taylor, Logan Taylor, Lillian Corn, and Emma Corn. Great-grandchildren Lleyton Hoffman, Harper Smith, and Gracyn Smith also survive her. Pete Taylor, her former spouse, children’s father and lifelong friend, is also with us today. Family was everything to Lana. Her kindness and care made a difference to everyone who knew her. We remember her gentle spirit and the love she shared with her family. There will be a visitation and celebration of life to honor Lana on June 13, 2026. Both events will be held at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes Watkinsville, located at 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677. The visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 11:00 a.m. The celebration of life will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, dedications may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Lana.
