Lamar Daniel Bowen

Lamar Daniel Bowen, 50, of Athens, passed away on July 22, 2023. Born on April 26, 1973, he was the son of Jack Bowen and the late Elise Williams Bowen.

Lamar was one of a kind and was always the life of the party. He was radiant and lit up every room he walked into. He loved his family and friends, and they loved him too. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Vernon & Fannie Bowen, J.C. & Flora Williams.

He is survived by his father, Jack Bowen; siblings, Carolyn (Shane) Dawson, Laverne (John) Toney; nieces and nephews, Hannah Dawson, Matthew Dawson, Isaiah Patrick, Brandon Toney, Jordan Toney; great niece, Emberleigh Rose Dawson.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Madison Chapel with the family receiving friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Danielsville Memorial Park.
