Kay Windham Marlowe, 79, of Watkinsville, Georgia, died peacefully at home on September 22nd, 2023.
She was the daughter of Charles and Ann Windham. Kay was born at Warner Robbins Air Force Base and raised in Macon Georgia. She graduated from the Woman’s College of Georgia in Milledgeville with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She later completed her Master of Education degree at the University of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Paul Marlowe Jr.
She is survived by three sons: Russ, Allen (Tammy), and Daniel (Meredith) Marlowe. Grandchildren: Caitlin, Luke, Katie, Hannah, and Leah Rose Marlowe, Kasey Stephens, and Katlin Michaels. Great grandchildren: Brinslee and Morgan Marlowe and Lawson Michaels. Her greatest love and passion were her family, her children and grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She resided in Watkinsville, Georgia since 1978 and retired from teaching fifth grade in Oconee County. She was a founding member of Briarwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Kay was an avid reader and artist. After retirement she volunteered as a docent at the UGA art museum. She was also an active member of OCAF where her artwork was put on public display.
Visitation will be at Briarwood Baptist Church at 1:00pm on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park Cemetery.
