Karen A. Meadow (Kay), 68, of Hull, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on November 30, 2025.
Born in Athens, GA, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Catherine Youngblood. In her free time, she enjoyed being outside with her golden doodle, Cash, and had a passion for her career in caregiving especially for Mrs. Sara, Mrs. Carlie, and Mrs. Shirley. Above all, nothing gave her greater joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Kay was known for her selfless, supportive, and fiercely loyal personality. She also demonstrated remarkable determination and commitment to bettering herself, which is evidenced in her obtaining her CMA certification at the age of 47. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, and her work ethic was admirable.
Survivors include her daughters Sandy Hillsman (Trent), and Amanda Jordan (Michael); brothers Alan Cheek and Mike Youngblood (Kris); sisters-in-law Kathy Cheek and Sue Hill; grandchildren Brooke Hooper, Blake Hooper (Olivia), Aiden Jordan, Cole Hillsman, and Cason Hillsman; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth L. Carey, and second husband Ronald W. Meadow; brother Lamar Cheek, and sister Marilyn Lambert.
The family will hold a visitation for Mrs. Meadow Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Danielsville.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville is in charge of arrangements.
