Karen Lee Fluevog

July 18, 1959 — December 11, 2020

Karen Lee Fluevog, 61, of Bishop, Georgia was called to be with her Lord and Savior on December 11th, 2020.

The daughter of the late Edwin Andrew and Phyllis Schafer Fluevog, Karen was born in Aiken, South Carolina; lived in Martinsville, Virginia; Watkinsville, Georgia; and Gainesville, Georgia before settling in her home in Bishop, Georgia in 2013.  Karen is loved and remembered by her daughter, Avery Lee Fluevog; her brothers, John Douglas Fluevog and Steven Andrew Fluevog (Jill); four nephews and nieces, Marcus Blake Fluevog (Marcy), Anna Jeanelle Fluevog, John Edwin Fluevog (Tori), and Andrew Michael Fluevog (Haley); and one great niece Margaret James Fluevog.

A Class of 1977 graduate of Oconee County High School, Karen attended and graduated from Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts in English degree.  She then obtained her Registered Respiratory Therapy diploma in 1985.  Karen was a dedicated, loyal, and hardworking caregiver and employee in the medical field for over 35 years beginning in respiratory therapy in 1985 and serving the past 13 years as a Clinical Liaison for Landmark Hospital in Athens, Georgia.

Karen was full of the true joy that came from her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Karen loved her family and friends, and was always fun to be around with her warm personality, sense of humor, and infectious laugh.

Karen was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  However, the most important role in her life was as a strongly devoted and immensely proud Mom to her daughter Avery.  Avery will cherish the memories of the time they spent together whether it was just simply hanging out together in their home or going on one their many amazing adventures visiting national parks all over the United States.

Karen will be forever remembered as a selfless person always thinking of others before herself.  She made a positive impact on all the lives of everyone that she knew.  She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

A private Celebration of Life Service for members of the family will be held on Saturday, December 19th .  The family will receive visitors from 11:30 to 1:00 on Saturday, December 19th   at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, West.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cause that was so dear to her, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036 or bcrf.org.
