Justin Bradley Knight

Justin Bradley Knight, 38, of Athens passed away on November 9, 2024. Born on February 19, 1986, he was the son of Chuck and Teresa Knight. 

Justin was a true academic, earning his PHD in Cognitive/ Experimental Psychology at UGA. He participated in research that resulted in novel scientific discoveries, publishing many journal articles, which will continue making lasting impacts. He enjoyed the adventures of traveling and seeing beautiful landscapes. He was passionate about sports, fiercely supporting his Alma mater “Go Dawgs” and his hometown NFL team the Carolina Panthers. He loved all animals; his most treasured was a Boxer named Dex who was faithfully by his side for many years. His favorite TV series was The Office, watching so many times that he lost count.

In addition to his parents, he was survived by a brother, Chase Knight (Blaine); Nieces and Nephews, Nathan and Macie Knight, Raider, Trooper, and Inara Renz; Aunt, Pam (Charlie) McManus; Uncle, Blake Hegler; Grandmother, Barbara Hegler; Cousin, Meredith Simpson and her children, Garrett, Ava Grace and Sawyer; Significant Other, Jace Schrader.

Those that have passed before him include Grandparents, Mendel B. Hegler, Gary and Carolyn Knight; Uncles, Jamie Hegler, Brian Knight.

Funeral service to be at Green Acres Baptist Church, 2085 Barnett Shoals Rd., Athens, GA 30605 on Friday, November 15th at 2pm with Dr. Cameron Ford officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 pm.
