Juanita Pauline Kemmer Parsons, Age 95, of Bogart, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on June 21, 2025. Juanita formerly lived in Columbus, Georgia and Kahoka, Missouri.
Juanita was born on September 30, 1929, in Wenona, Illinois to Werner and Jalina Baird Kemmer. She married Joseph C. Parsons (“Joe”) on December 8, 1950. Joe was in the US Army, and they moved to several locations where he was stationed, including Germany. They moved from Germany to Columbus Georgia in 1958.
Juanita lived in Columbus for over 60 years. She graduated from Columbus College, now Columbus State University. She started a tax and accounting business in Columbus. For many years, Juanita enjoyed spending time with clients and serving them. She especially enjoyed the “relational” part of the business and keeping up with their families. This was a social outlet for her in later years until she retired completely at the age of 89.
Juanita was a member of South Columbus United Methodist Church for many years and later, Sherwood Presbyterian Church, until she moved to Bogart Georgia in 2021. She loved serving her churches as their accountant and other capacities.
Juanita is survived by her son, Arthur Parsons (Amber) and grandson Joseph Parsons of Atlanta, and son Joseph Parsons (Lori) of Statham, granddaughters Meredith Parsons Kublbock (Chris) of Fernandina Beach, Florida and Courtney Parsons Dantzler (James) of Watkinsville, and great-grandchildren Aubrey Len Kublbock, Noah Ryan Kublbock, James David Dantzler IV and Leonard Joseph Dantzler and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Helen Daniel and her daughter, Iva Elaine Parsons.
Juanita was a person who overcame obstacles in life. Because of financial difficulties, she was unable to attend college immediately after graduating high school as their salutatorian. She went to work and took several classes at night. She was widowed at age 37, with three young children. She decided to go back to school and earn her business degree, but not before purchasing a used camper and taking her children on a six-week vacation across the US to California and back. Later in life, she and her Aunt Mary Schultz enjoyed the adventure of taking annual trips around the United States and Canada.
Juanita loved her family and was proud of her hometown. For over 20 years, she traveled alone from Columbus to Kahoka twice each year for family reunions and Old Settler’s Day.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Landing Senior Living – Bogart and Agape Hospice Care, for their wonderful care of Juanita for the past several years.
