Josh Randall Faulkner

Josh Randall Faulkner, age 49, of Hull, Georgia, loving husband of 10 years to Sheyna Hopkins Faulkner, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.

A native of Comer, Josh was the son of Gilda Jean Faulkner and late Harold K. “Mutt” Faulkner. Josh was an exemplary father to their 11 year old daughter, Kaitlann Faith Faulkner. Josh was a loyal fan of the NFL team Dallas Cowboys, our very own Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.

Josh worked as a concrete cutter, for A GA Cutter in Comer, nearly a decade. His boss, Joe Mattern, treated Josh like family and always recognized him for his valiant work ethic, and over time, they became friends. Before this Josh worked at his brother restaurant (Butt Hutt BBQ off Macon Hwy in Athens). This is also where Josh met his wife, and began a beautiful and timeless love story. Josh worked several other jobs in other fields such as siding, roofing, demolition, and built displays for Home Depot throughout the United States.

He worked every day with no call-ins and always on time. Josh loved his family so very much, often time introducing his wife as “The woman sent to him straight from God”. Josh treasures his wife and daughter in an indescribable way. He made it clear to all who knew him, that these two women were his “greatest accomplishments” and loved and provided diligently for his family and anyone he knew.

Josh attended Danielsville Evangelical Church and in June of this year was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit along with his daughter and wife.

Survivors in addition to his wife and daughter include his Mother (Gilda/G-Nanny), his brother Nile (Kandace) Faulkner (of Athens), and his sister Carrie (Troy) Yancey, sister-in-laws Erika (Cody) Blackmon, and Jessica Hopkins of Augusta. Nieces and nephews, Dillon (Kristen) Faulkner, Allie (Braxton) Legg, Riley, Reagan, and Ryder Yancey, Carter Hayes, and Kyler Blackmon and great niece Charley Faulkner and great nephew Remington Faulkner, and arriving in November, great nephew Weston Legg. Mother-in-law, Trish (William) Wheeler, Father-in-law Kelvin Hopkins of Swainsboro as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, October 27, at Lord & Stephens Danielsville. Funeral services will be immediately after visitation at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel, with the Pastor Dwayne Dickerson and Pastor Keith Nix officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Nile and Dillon Faulkner, Troy Yancey, Jason Booth, Joe Alewine and Joe Mattern.
