John H. Lill III passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, generosity, and quiet excellence.

John was a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and friend. Family was at the center of his life. He spoke often with pride about his children and grandchildren, celebrated their accomplishments, and cared deeply about their futures. His love for his wife was evident in the way he supported her through life’s challenges with unwavering devotion.

Professionally, John was a respected Certified Public Accountant and the owner of The Tax Shelter. For decades he earned the trust of hundreds of clients through his knowledge, honesty, and willingness to help. To many, he was far more than an accountant—he was a trusted advisor, problem solver, and steady presence who genuinely cared about the people he served.

Outside the office, John believed in making the most of every day. He enjoyed golf, traveling, and staying active. Even in his sixties, he worked with a trainer, challenged himself physically, and was always looking for ways to improve. Whether planning a golf trip with friends or working toward a lower handicap, he approached life with enthusiasm and determination.

He was endlessly curious. He loved learning, asking questions, solving problems, and sharing what he discovered. Conversations with John could range from tax law and estate planning to golf technique, television dramas, history, medicine, investing, or the latest technology. He believed there was always something new to learn.

Those who knew John will remember his kindness, his sharp mind, his dry sense of humor, and his willingness to help whenever someone needed him. He lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

John’s greatest legacy is the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched through his work, his friendship, and his example. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

May his memory be a blessing.

He is survived by his wife Lori, sons- Jonathan, Joshua, Jordan, Jared, Jacob, and Jeremiah. Grandchildren- Jane, Oliver, Charlie, and Adaline.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, WEST. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the funeral home.
