Joel passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014. He was born September 14, 1962 in Athens, GA to Joel K. Sr., and Carolyn Bond Davis. His mother preceded him in death in March 1996. He is survived by his loving wife Megan Thomas Davis and three children, Morgan Mae, Timothy Matthew, and Carson Annie. His father and step-mother LaNelle (Marty) reside in Jefferson, GA and one brother Emory David (Stephanie) Davis in Nicholson, GA. Other surviving family members include two step-brothers and one step-sister and their families Andrew (Sonia) Davis of Nicholson,GA, Bennie Jr. (Brenda) Davis of Hornsby, TN, Lorraine (Ronald) Dipple of Columbus, NC, and nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband and father and will truly be missed by his family.
Joel could accomplish anything he set his mind to do and at a very early age showed his interest in mechanics which led him to his work in life and his hobby of rebuilding old model trucks. He, and his wife Megan, started Athena Heating & Air which later became A1 Heating & Air. He served his customers well for over 30 years. He loved his family and spent as much time as possible with them. They were the most important thing in his life.
We thank God for Joel and know that he is now with his Creator and Lord. Rest in peace our beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend. We will never forget you.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 4PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any local children's charity of your choice.
Lord and Stephens WEST is in charge of arrangements.
