Joan Lucille Marable, 87, of Stephens, passed away on February 4, 2024. Born on September 21, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Ward Nation and Fred Nation.
Joan was the epitome of a perfect homemaker, enjoying gardening, canning, sewing, and crocheting. She loved to go shopping, enjoyed eating delicious meals and was known by her family for making the best biscuits and sweet potato biscuits around. Joan and her husband, Rollin, owned and managed a TV and furniture store in downtown Lexington for many years before retiring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Evans Marable; siblings John Henry Nation, Freddy Nation, Harold Nation, Mary Johnson.
Survivors include her children, Dean Marable, Denise Amason (Greg), Deborah Marable; grandchildren, Rollin Keith Marable (Stacey), Jenna Lee McDaniel (Jamie), Jessy Cupples (Joe), Sarah Grace Amason; great grandchildren, Brealyn Marable, Jake Cupples, Cora McDaniel, Charlotte McDaniel; siblings, Ora Nation, Glenn Nation, Eva Nation.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Welcome Avenue Holiness Church Cemetery.
