Jo Ann York

Jo Ann York, 88, of Lexington, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, August 13, 2026.

A native of Oglethorpe County, Jo Ann was a daughter of the late Joseph D. and Maggie Lee Paul. She was an Oglethorpe County School bus driver for 25 years and was a lifelong member of Clouds Creek Baptist Church.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Kathy Hayes, and her sister, Doris P. Burgess. She is survived by her husband, Eddy York; daughters, Cynthia Lambright (Dennis) and Sharon Brooks Kraynik; son, Paul York (Amanda); stepson, Tommy York; her sister, Katheryn Tucker; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, East.
