Jimmy Allen Bell, 70, was born on November 29, 1954, in Athens, GA.
He lived a full and hardworking life as both a truck driver and a farmer. Jimmy loved his work and took great pride in every task he undertook. For him, it was never just a job- he truly found joy and purpose in the work he did each day.
Jimmy passed away on November 17, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved member of his community who had deep roots in his hometown. As a child, he grew up attending Antioch Christian Church, where his love for Jesus begun to blossom. Jimmy never wanted to miss a single prayer, always eager to learn more and draw closer to Him. His faith was pure and he tried his best to walk through life hand and hand with Jesus.
He had a special fondness for John Deere tractors. He collected many different models and loved sharing that passion with children, often gifting pieces from his collection. His favorite time of the year was sausage-making season. What began as a small family tradition, eventually grew into a community affair. While he enjoyed the craft of making sausage, what he cherished most were the relationships he built along the way.
He took the role of being a provider for his family very seriously. He always wanted to make sure everyone was well cared for, never wanted them to go without. His heart was full of love and joy for his family and his friends. He poured that love into everything he did for everyone- Jimmy knew no stranger.
He cherished his wife of 13 years, his true soulmate, and stood by her with unwavering devotion. Although, Jimmy could not have children of his own, he embraced Jill’s three children wholeheartedly and raised them as if they were his. He made it a priority to show up, be present, and support them in every way he could.
Jimmys presence brought comfort, stability, and warmth to their home. His family knew they could count on him- his guidance, his laughter, and his steady love were the foundation of their lives.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Jill Marie Bell, of 13 wonderful years. His children: Matt Hembree, Jessica (Trevor) Turk, Katie Hembree and the family dog, Belle Bell, and his sister, Lisa Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lamar Bell and Mary Louise Carter Bell, as well as his siblings, Teresa Smith and Neal Bell.
