Watkinsville - Mr. Jessie Edmon Glisson, 92, died September 1, 2005.
A native of Decatur County, GA, he was a son of the late Charles Jason and Callie Herring Glisson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jewell Goff Glisson and brother, Willie Lee ìBillî Glisson.
Mr. Glisson was a veteran of the United States Army, having participated in the invasion of Normandy, World War II. He was a First Sergeant in the 3rd U.S. Army and was wounded in Saint Lo, France. Mr. Glisson retired in 1977 after 30 years of service at the Marine Corp Supply Center in Albany, GA.
Graveside services will be Sunday, September 4, 2005, at 2:00 PM at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday at Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Inc. from 1:00 until service time.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Len Wildes of Danielsville and Charlotte and Robert Davis of Flowery Branch; two sons and daughters-in-law John and Kathy Glisson of Watkinsville and Edmon Glisson of Roxboro, NC and Teresa Glisson of Tennessee; two brothers Jason Glisson of Havana, FL and Alexander Glisson of Bainbridge, GA; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
