Jerry "Mike" Michael Allen, Jr., born on July 10, 1969, in Athens, Georgia, passed away on May 21, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia. Mike was a cherished figure in the lives of many and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Mike was the son of Jerry Michael Allen & Patsy Allen.
Mike devoted much of his life to supporting others, working in a vital support staff position with We Are Living Proof. His commitment to helping people was a defining characteristic, reflecting a generosity of spirit that resonated deeply with those around him.
Known affectionately as "Cracker" by everyone who played softball with him, Mike's love for the game was well known. He also had a passion for watching races and was an avid fan of Georgia Football, interests that brought joy and camaraderie into his life.
He was a beloved son, father, brother, and grandfather whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on his family and friends. Mike is survived by his daughter Ashley Allen and Savannah Allen; two sisters, Vickie (Olin) Wood, and Tara Allen; his stepson Ty Malcolm, and grandchildren Vera Gooden, Grady Daniel, Hunter Daniel, Sadie Daniel, Wesser Malcolm,and Cambria Malcolm.
He was also surrounded in life by several nieces, nephews, three aunts, one uncle, and numerous cousins who will carry forward his memory.
Mike’s grandparents, Weldon and Vera Ross, and Roman and Cora Allen, have preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy they helped shape in him.
Family, friends, and all who admired Mike are invited to attend a visitation on May 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM . Both will be held at the New Covenant Worship Center located at 1425 Newton Bridge Road, Athens, GA 30607, with Pastor Howard Conine officiating. These gatherings will provide an opportunity to celebrate and remember the life of a man who touched so many with his kind heart and steadfast devotion.
Mike's memory will live on through the lives he impacted and the love he shared. His legacy of kindness and support serves as an enduring tribute to a life well-lived.
